Integrated directly into the face of the Murphy bed is our Inset Desk, allowing the same space to function as both a comfortable home office and a guest bedroom. When the desk is not needed, it folds completely into the face of the Murphy bed, becoming part of the decorative cabinetry. This keeps the room clean and uncluttered while eliminating the need for a separate freestanding desk.

When it is time to work, the concealed desk folds down to create a spacious work surface. A typical Queen-size Inset Desk measures approximately 53″ wide x 31″ deep, providing plenty of room for a laptop, monitor, paperwork, and everyday office tasks. When additional floor space is needed, simply fold the desk back into the cabinet.

The Inset Desk design uses our piston-driven Create-A-Bed Murphy bed mechanism, providing smooth operation while allowing the desk components to integrate neatly into the face of the bed. Inset Desk Murphy beds are available in several mattress sizes, but are not offered in King size.

Like our other custom Murphy beds, the Frank Lloyd Wright Inspired model can be personalized with different woods, stains, painted finishes, molding styles, hardware, lighting, charging stations, and coordinating side cabinetry. Optional bookcases can add open shelving, drawers, doors, file storage, printer pullouts, or other features to create a complete wall system tailored to the room.

The result is a custom Murphy bed that allows one room to serve multiple purposes without sacrificing furniture design. During the day, it provides a dedicated workspace. When guests arrive, the desk disappears into the cabinetry and the room quickly converts into a comfortable bedroom.
