Style #138-0625 is a custom queen-size Christy Murphy bed designed to combine a guest bed, large home office workspace, built-in storage, charging, and a matching dresser into one coordinated furniture system. Built from Maple and finished in a Natural Clear Coat, this Murphy bed highlights the natural character and grain of the wood while maintaining a clean, contemporary appearance. Please Note: Our Double Fold Desk Murphy beds include a larger, more substantial desk system, which adds additional weight to the Murphy bed face. While most of our Murphy beds are designed to be nearly counterbalanced, the Double Fold Desk models require a little more lifting effort. On average, approximately 25 lbs. of lifting force is needed to raise the bed. Actual lifting force may vary depending on the mattress. One of the standout features of this custom Murphy bed is the Double Fold Desk. When fully opened, the desk creates a generous workspace extending approximately 83″ from the Murphy bed cabinetry, giving you plenty of room for a computer, paperwork, and everyday office tasks. When the room is needed for sleeping, the desk folds into the face of the Murphy bed, allowing the queen bed to open into the same space. The desk can also be folded partway during the transition, although the drawing packet notes that it is not intended to be used as a desk in the halfway-folded position. Tall bookcases on both sides of the Murphy bed add enclosed storage while keeping the design symmetrical. Each side includes wood doors with adjustable wood shelving, soft-close hardware, a printer pullout, drink tray, and standard drawers. The printer pullouts allow office equipment to be stored inside the cabinetry and pulled forward when needed, making this Murphy bed especially well suited for a home office or multifunctional guest room. For added convenience, the right side includes a black charging station and an outlet built into the base, helping keep laptops, phones, and other devices powered without cluttering the workspace with extension cords. Lighting is provided by Outset LED lights with black frames, positioned above the Murphy bed for useful reading and task lighting. A second touch plate is included for the lights in addition to the touch control located at the headboard, allowing convenient operation whether the Murphy bed is being used as a bed or office. A coordinating six-drawer dresser completes the room and matches the Maple construction, Natural Clear Coat finish, and nickel hardware of the Murphy bed.
