Monitor Murphy Bed 123-0925c

This custom queen size Monitor Desk Murphy Bed was designed to make one room work as both a comfortable guest bedroom and a fully functional home office. The face is based on our Templeton style, which is known for its shaker-style panel design, but this version was modified to allow a customer-supplied monitor to be mounted directly on the face of the bed.

When the bed is closed, the room is set up as a clean, built-in workstation with a large work surface, monitor, storage, and bookcases. When the bed is opened, the same space quickly converts into a guest bedroom without needing a separate room dedicated only to sleeping.

Stay Level Desk

The Stay Level Desk is one of the main features of this design. The desk stays level as the Murphy bed transitions from the office position to the bed position, so the desk does not have to be completely cleared every time the bed is used. This makes it much easier to use the room every day as an office while still having a queen size guest bed ready when needed.

This design also includes two white charging stations under the desk. These give the workspace easy access to power and charging, with cords able to feed from the desktop area down to the outlets for a cleaner setup.

Monitor Face Design

The Templeton face was customized for a monitor, giving this Murphy bed a more complete home office setup. The customer supplied a Dell 27″ 4K UHD monitor for this project, and the bed face was designed around that feature. The monitor placement keeps the workspace practical while still allowing the bed to function properly.

Lighting

This Murphy bed includes outset LED lights with white frames, along with bookcase LED lights on both sides. The lights are useful in both positions: they shine over the desk when the bed is closed and can be used as reading lights when the bed is open.

The lights are controlled from two locations. One touch switch is located on the headboard for use when the bed is open, and a second touch switch is positioned for use when the unit is in the office setup.

3″ Headboard with Charging Station

The inside headboard was upgraded to a 3″ headboard with a white charging station. This gives overnight guests a convenient place to charge phones, tablets, or other devices while using the bed. The headboard also includes the touch switch for the lights, making the lighting easy to control from the bed.

Bookcases and Storage

The side bookcases include open shelving at the top, mid-door sections with an adjustable shelf on both sides, and lower file drawers. The lower sections also include pullout drink trays on both sides, which are useful as bedside surfaces when the bed is open or as extra work surfaces when the room is being used as an office.

The file drawers add practical storage for paperwork and office supplies, while the mid-door sections help keep less decorative items hidden behind doors. This combination gives the unit a clean built-in look while still offering everyday storage.

Finish and Hardware

This Murphy bed is built from Painted Maple and finished in White Lacquer. The white finish gives the unit a bright, clean appearance that works well in a home office, guest room, or multipurpose room. The design is finished with black bar pulls, using 16″ pulls on the bed face and 6″ pulls throughout the rest of the unit.
