Cherry Bullock Murphy Bed 1216-0426

This custom Home Office Murphy Bed was designed to give one room the function of both a comfortable guest bedroom and a fully usable home office. In the closed position, the bed is concealed behind a furniture-style face with a large Stay Level Desk across the front. When guests arrive, the bed opens without requiring the desk to be completely cleared, making the transition from office to bedroom simple and practical.

Face Style

Bullock Face – The Bullock face is known for its raised panel false doors, giving the Murphy bed the look of a traditional built-in cabinet. This version was customized with two rows of raised panel false doors above the desk, creating a taller, more detailed cabinet face while still concealing the bed behind the design.

Desk Style

Stay Level Desk – The Stay Level Desk remains level as the Murphy bed transitions from the closed office position to the open bed position. This allows the desk surface to stay usable without having to completely remove everything each time the bed is opened.

A charging station outlet was also added under the desk. Wires can be fed from the top of the desk down to the outlet, helping keep the work surface cleaner and more organized. The charging station includes two standard plugs, one USB-A port, and one USB-C fast-charge port.

Bookcases

The side bookcases are our Buffet Style Bookcases, which feature a deeper lower section for added storage and a more substantial built-in look. The lower section includes a cabinet door and pullout drink tray, while the upper section has adjustable shelves for books, décor, office supplies, or personal items.

Back Panel Detail

On most Murphy beds, the wall is visible above the headboard when the bed is open. For this design, we added a finished back panel between the light bar and the headboard. This gives the open bed position a more complete built-in appearance and helps the entire unit feel like one finished furniture piece.

Molding Details

This Murphy bed was finished with our Standard Crown Molding and Standard Base Molding. These molding details add depth and help complete the built-in furniture look from top to bottom.

Wood and Finish

This Murphy bed was built in Cherry wood and finished with Minwax Jacobean stain, giving it a rich, dark custom finish with beautiful natural grain variation.

Cherry is a premium wood option. This same general style can also be built using our stock oak or maple wood options, which can provide a significant reduction in price while still keeping the same space-saving design and custom functionality.
