The 134-0322 Frank Lloyd Wright Inspired Murphy Bed combines architectural character, workspace, storage, and sleeping space into one highly functional custom wall bed. The distinctive face design was inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, using strong vertical and horizontal lines and geometric panel detailing to create a furniture piece with an architectural feel. Built from Maple and finished in Caviar Black, this queen-size piston Murphy bed makes a dramatic statement while helping a multipurpose room work harder. Please Note: Our Double Fold Desk Murphy beds include a larger, more substantial desk system, which adds additional weight to the Murphy bed face. While most of our Murphy beds are designed to be nearly counterbalanced, the Double Fold Desk models require a little more lifting effort. On average, approximately 25 lbs. of lifting force is needed to raise the bed.

One of the standout features of this custom Murphy bed is our Double Fold Desk. When the workspace is not needed, the desk folds into the face of the Murphy bed, preserving valuable floor space and maintaining the clean architectural appearance of the cabinetry. When opened, the desk expands to approximately 83″ wide x 31″ deep, creating a massive work surface suitable for a home office, dual-monitor setup, creative workspace, studying, or everyday projects. Once the workday is finished, the desk folds back into the Murphy bed face so the room can quickly transition back into an open living space or guest bedroom.

Flanking the Murphy bed are 18″ wide bookcases, giving the entire unit a built-in appearance while providing useful storage. The bookcases incorporate open shelving for books and display items along with enclosed storage below. Both sides also include charging stations, allowing phones, tablets, and other electronics to remain conveniently powered without cluttering the workspace. The drawing also specifies printer pullouts on both sides, providing dedicated storage for printers or office equipment that can be pulled forward when needed and tucked away afterward. For additional office organization, the lower bookcases include two file drawers on each side. These dedicated filing drawers make Style 134-0322 especially well suited for a true home-office environment, allowing paperwork and files to remain organized within the Murphy bed cabinetry instead of requiring separate filing cabinets. The Murphy bed also includes inset lighting positioned above the bed area. When the queen bed is lowered, the lights provide convenient illumination for reading and help create a comfortable guest-room atmosphere. A convenient pull-out drink tray adds another useful bedside feature. When the Murphy bed is open, the tray can be extended to provide a convenient surface for a drink, phone, book, or other small bedside items, then pushed back into the cabinetry when it is no longer needed. With the bed closed and the Double Fold Desk stored away, the geometric Frank Lloyd Wright Inspired face becomes the focal point of the room. The dark Caviar Black finish emphasizes the grid-like panel pattern while allowing the Murphy bed to function visually as custom architectural cabinetry rather than simply a bed stored against the wall. When office space is needed, the large desk folds out. When overnight accommodations are needed, the queen Murphy bed opens to transform the same room into a comfortable bedroom.
