Christy Double Fold #138-1022

Style 138-1022 is a custom queen-size Murphy bed designed to combine a comfortable guest bed, a large home office workspace, and built-in storage into one space-saving wall unit. This Murphy bed is built from Maple and finished in Classic Gray, giving the wood a soft, contemporary appearance while still allowing the natural grain and character to show through. 138-1022 Drawing

A standout feature of this design is the Double Fold Desk. When fully opened, it creates a substantial work surface that extends approximately 83 inches from the cabinetry, providing plenty of room for a computer, paperwork, and everyday office use. When it is time to use the bed, the desk folds into the face of the Murphy bed, allowing the room to transition from office to bedroom without requiring a separate desk. The overall wall unit was designed approximately 107 7/8 inches high, with a 20-inch upper cabinet section and custom scribe-and-trim details for a more built-in appearance. 138-1022 Drawing

Please Note: Our Double Fold Desk Murphy beds include a larger, more substantial desk system, which adds additional weight to the Murphy bed face. While most of our Murphy beds are designed to be nearly counterbalanced, the Double Fold Desk models require a little more lifting effort. On average, approximately 25 lbs. of lifting force is needed to raise the bed.

Storage is incorporated throughout the design. Tall side bookcases feature adjustable shelving behind doors, while the lower sections include file drawers on both sides for organizing paperwork and office supplies. Each bookcase also includes a black charging station, and an additional black charging station is located beneath the desk area, providing convenient access to power for computers, phones, and other electronics. 138-1022 Drawing

The Murphy bed also includes Outset LED lights with black frames, adding useful task lighting while the desk is in use and comfortable reading light when the bed is open. 138-1022 Drawing The upper cabinetry spans the full unit and adds enclosed storage without sacrificing valuable floor space.

Additional architectural details include Mission Crown molding, a shortened Mission Base, and scribe-and-trim construction designed so the cabinetry can be fitted closely to the surrounding wall for a finished, built-in appearance. When the queen Murphy bed is opened, the workspace transforms into a comfortable sleeping area while retaining the surrounding storage and lighting. The combination of a large Double Fold Desk, file storage, charging stations, integrated lighting, and extensive cabinetry makes Style 138-1022 an excellent solution for a home office, guest room, flex room, or multipurpose space where maximizing every square foot matters.
