This custom Queen New Yorker Murphy Bed is designed to combine a comfortable guest bed with an extra-large workspace while keeping the overall footprint clean and streamlined. The New Yorker features its traditional paneled Murphy bed face along with our Double Fold Inset Desk.
Unlike our standard Inset Desk, which folds out in a single section, the Double Fold Inset Desk uses two folding sections to create an impressive 84″ long work surface when fully extended. When the desk is not needed, both sections fold neatly back into the Murphy bed face, allowing the room to quickly transition from a spacious home office to a guest bedroom.
This particular Murphy bed was built without side bookcases, giving it a narrower, more compact overall width. An upper bookcase provides additional enclosed storage above the bed while maintaining the finished, furniture-style appearance of the New Yorker design.
The unit is completed with our Standard Crown molding and Standard Base molding for a classic finished look. This model was built without lighting, keeping the design simple while still offering an excellent combination of workspace, storage, and sleeping accommodations.
