This custom horizontal Extra Long Twin Murphy bed is a space-saving solution designed for rooms where a traditional vertical wall bed may not be the best fit. Style 161-0226 features our Alpine Murphy bed face, paired with a clean 2-1/4″ Shaker-style post design for a simple, transitional look.

Built from Maple and finished in Sherwin-Williams Peppercorn SW 7674, this horizontal Murphy bed has a rich charcoal-gray finish that gives the cabinetry a modern, furniture-style appearance. Customer-supplied 6″ nickel bar pulls provide a streamlined accent to the front of the bed.

Several custom details were incorporated into this Murphy bed, including a substantial 1-1/2″ thick top, a 4″ high base, and a 6″ base molding cutout that allows the cabinet to fit neatly against the room’s existing baseboard. The cabinet measures approximately 88″ wide, 50-1/2″ high, and 16″ deep, making the horizontal configuration especially useful for spaces with limited wall height.

When opened, the Extra Long Twin bed projects approximately 49″ into the room, providing a comfortable sleeping area while allowing the bed to fold back into the cabinet when not in use. This custom horizontal Murphy bed is an excellent option for a guest room, home office, multipurpose room, or any space where maximizing usable floor area is important.
