New Yorker Style 137-0525

Style 137-0525 is a custom New Yorker Murphy bed designed to transform a room into a flexible home office, guest bedroom, and storage space without sacrificing traditional furniture styling. This queen-size piston Murphy bed is crafted from Red Oak and finished in Sherwin-Williams SW 6249 Storm Cloud, allowing the natural open grain of the oak to remain visible through the painted finish. Contrasting Dark Walnut-stained oak fixed shelves add warmth to the gray cabinetry, while 6″ nickel bar pulls complete the look.

The centerpiece is the New Yorker raised-panel Murphy bed face with a single-fold inset desk, giving the room a full-size workspace when the bed is closed. When overnight guests arrive, the queen wall bed folds down to provide a comfortable sleeping area while keeping the surrounding cabinetry accessible. A 3″ headboard with an integrated black charging station provides convenient power beside the bed, and the lighting system includes outset LED lights with black frames and touch-switch controls.

Four coordinating Murphy bed bookcases provide extensive display, storage, and bedside functionality. The upper sections feature three adjustable shelves, while the lower cabinets have double soft-close doors with an adjustable shelf inside. Each bookcase also includes a black charging station and pullout drink tray, making the cabinetry useful whether the room is being used as an office or bedroom. The fixed shelves above the doors are finished in contrasting Dark Walnut stain for a distinctive two-tone appearance.

The cabinetry was also engineered for a clean built-in appearance. The bookcase cabinets are approximately 15 7/8″ deep and flush with the Murphy bed cabinet, with added depth behind the bed to accommodate the headboard, outlet, and wiring. The standard crown molding intentionally stops short and returns into the cabinetry, creating a finished transition where the bed and bookcases meet.
