Shaker Murphy bed 1320-0326

Style 1320-0326 is a custom Queen Murphy bed with desk and bookcases designed to combine a comfortable sleeping area, a spacious home office, and built-in storage in one attractive wall unit. The clean Shaker-style cabinetry, Mission-inspired trim, and two-tone finish give this Murphy bed a timeless furniture look while making excellent use of a multipurpose room.

Built primarily from painted maple, this Murphy bed is finished in Benjamin Moore White Dove for a soft, warm white appearance. Red oak is used for the contrasting accent areas and finished with a Red Mahogany dye coat, adding rich wood tones to the shelving and breaking up the painted cabinetry. Oil-rubbed bronze knobs provide a complementary finishing touch.

The centerpiece is a Queen-size Shaker Murphy bed featuring a Mission crown and modified Mission base. When the bed is closed, the paneled face blends into the surrounding cabinetry for a built-in appearance. When opened, the bed creates a comfortable sleeping area framed by the bookcases, while inset LED lights with white frames provide convenient lighting above the headboard.

One of the standout features of Style 1320-0326 is the Single Fold Inset Desk. The desk folds out from the face of the Murphy bed to create a substantial workspace, making this design especially well suited for a home office, guest room, craft room, or other space that needs to serve more than one purpose.

Matching bookcases on both sides of the Murphy bed add generous storage and display space. Each side includes three adjustable wooden shelves finished in the Red Mahogany accent color. The lower left bookcase includes a door with an adjustable shelf, while the lower right bookcase features two standard drawers. Both sides also include convenient pull-out drink trays, providing an easy place for a cup, phone, or other small bedside items when the bed is open.

Additional details were incorporated to make the installation practical as well as attractive. The modified base includes a cutout for the room’s base molding, and space is provided behind portions of the cabinetry to make running electrical cords easier.
