Modified Templeton with desk 123-0126b

This custom Templeton Murphy Bed is designed to maximize functionality without sacrificing style. Built for spaces that need to serve more than one purpose, it seamlessly transforms from a productive home office into a comfortable guest bedroom.

The Templeton design is defined by its classic shaker-style face with four false doors. For this project, the face was customized with an added mid-rail on the doors, providing extra visual detail while maintaining the clean shaker look.

Stay Level Desk

The integrated Stay Level Desk remains flat as the bed transitions from the closed office position to the open bed position. There is no need to completely clear the desk, making it ideal for dual-use rooms. The desk includes three pencil drawers for everyday storage and a charging station located beneath the desk. Wires can be routed neatly from the desktop to the outlet below, which features two standard outlets, a USB-A port, and a USB-C fast-charge port.

Lighting & Headboard

This Murphy bed includes inset cabinet lighting that automatically turns on when the bed is opened and shuts off when closed. Lighting can also be controlled using a touch switch located on the headboard.
The headboard was upgraded to a 3-inch profile and includes its own charging station with two standard outlets, USB-A, and USB-C fast charge—perfect for bedside convenience.

Materials & Finish

Built from solid Maple wood, this bed is finished in a custom Sherwin-Williams color selected by the customer. The color is mixed into a durable lacquer finish, providing long-lasting protection with a smooth, furniture-grade appearance.
