The Templeton Murphy Bed is one of our classic shaker-style designs, featuring four shaker-style false doors across the face of the bed. This clean, timeless look pairs beautifully with the added upper bookcases, giving the unit extra storage while keeping the room polished and functional.
This Murphy bed is designed to turn one room into two. When closed, it creates a comfortable home office setup with a Stay Level desk. When opened, it quickly converts into a guest bedroom without needing to completely clear the desk. The desk stays level as the bed transitions, making it easy to keep everyday office items in place.
This design can be built with a Stay Level desk with three pencil drawers or a Stay Level desk with two drawers and a center pullout keyboard tray. Both options are great for creating a practical workspace that still allows the bed to open when needed.
A built-in charging station is installed under the desk and includes two standard outlets, one USB-A port, and one USB-C fast-charge port. Wires can be fed from the top of the desk down to the outlet, helping keep the work surface cleaner and more organized.
The bed section includes three Outset lights instead of the standard two. These lights are controlled from two locations: the headboard when the bed is open and the side of the cabinet when the bed is closed. In the office position, the lights shine down onto the desk for task lighting. In the bed position, they work as convenient reading lights.
Each side bookcase is 18″ wide and includes doors covering the upper shelving, a mid-door section, a pullout drink tray, and two standard drawers in the lower section. Above the bed, the 18″ high upper bookcases add even more enclosed storage with matching doors.
This Murphy bed is finished in our popular White Lacquer, one of our stock finishes. The bright, clean finish helps the piece blend well into many home office, guest room, or multi-purpose room designs.
