A Custom Horizontal Murphy Bed That Combines a Home Office and Guest Bedroom
Maximize your living space with this custom-built Templeton Queen Horizontal Murphy Bed with Stay Level Desk, Style 172-0626b, from WWBeds Custom Furniture. Designed to combine a comfortable guest bed with a functional home office, this space-saving Murphy bed offers the convenience of a full-size workspace without sacrificing valuable floor space.
Built from Red Oak with a rich Jacobean finish, this horizontal wall bed features our Templeton four-panel face design, showcasing beautiful natural wood grain and traditional craftsmanship. Custom black bar pulls, black desk hardware, and integrated LED lighting complement the dark wood finish, giving the unit a sophisticated appearance.
One of the standout features of this Queen Horizontal Murphy Bed is its Stay Level Desk. Unlike a traditional fold-down desk, the Stay Level Desk remains horizontal as the Murphy bed opens and closes. This allows you to convert your home office into a guest bedroom without removing everything from your desktop.
The spacious 21 1/4-inch-deep work surface features Formica 9921-43 Sahara Noir high-pressure laminate (HPL) in a matte black finish with distinctive veining. This decorative laminate provides a durable workspace while contrasting beautifully with the Jacobean-stained Red Oak cabinetry.
The desk also includes three convenient pencil drawers with soft-close hardware, custom black drawer pulls, and a black desk mechanism. A black charging station mounted beneath the desk provides convenient access to power for computers and other electronic devices.
When it’s time to accommodate overnight guests, the horizontal Murphy bed opens to reveal a comfortable Queen-size sleeping area. Its horizontal configuration makes it an excellent option for rooms with lower ceilings where a traditional vertical Murphy bed may not fit.
The bed includes a 3-inch interior headboard with an integrated black charging station, making it convenient to charge phones and other devices while relaxing in bed.
Two Outset LED lights with black frames are installed in the upper cabinet overhang. These lights provide illumination for the desk when the bed is closed and the sleeping area when the bed is open. A convenient touch plate at the headboard controls the lighting.
This custom Queen Horizontal Murphy Bed with Desk is ideal for home offices, guest bedrooms, multipurpose rooms, and other spaces where furniture needs to serve more than one purpose.
During the day, the cabinet functions as an attractive home office workstation with a generous desktop, integrated storage, lighting, and convenient charging access. At night, the Queen Murphy bed transforms the same space into a comfortable sleeping area for guests.
The horizontal design also makes this Murphy bed an excellent choice for rooms with limited ceiling height.
At WWBeds Custom Furniture, we specialize in building custom Murphy beds designed around your space, style, and functional needs. Our Murphy beds are built with quality plywood cabinetry rather than particle board or melamine, with a variety of hardwood veneers, finishes, desk configurations, lighting options, and storage features available.
