This Templeton Short Queen Murphy Bed with Fold-Down Desk – Style 143-0526 combines a comfortable guest bed and functional home office into one clean, space-saving design. Built from painted Maple and finished in a crisp White Lacquer, this custom Murphy bed features our Templeton face with classic recessed-panel detailing and contrasting 16″ black bar pulls.

The Short Queen Murphy bed maintains the width of a standard queen mattress while shortening the mattress length by approximately 5″, making it a great solution where room dimensions are limited. This project was designed specifically around a Short Queen configuration and includes an Orthopedic Pillowtop Short Queen mattress.

When the bed is closed, the front converts into a practical fold-down desk, allowing the room to function as a comfortable home office without permanently giving up floor space to a bed. The unit was built with a custom 18″ depth including trim and incorporates a black charging station underneath the desk for convenient access to power and charging connections.

Two outset LED lights are built into the upper canopy of the Murphy bed, providing useful task lighting while the desk is in use and warm bedside lighting when the bed is open. The drawing packet also specifies a light touch plate at the headboard for easy control from the bed.

The design is completed with Mission Base Molding, giving the cabinet a finished furniture appearance that works well with the simple Shaker-inspired styling of the Templeton face.
