The desk includes three built-in pencil drawers and remains perfectly level as the bed transitions from closed to open. That means you don’t have to completely clear off your workspace when it’s time to use the bed. It’s an ideal solution for creating a true dual-purpose room—part home office, part guest bedroom.
Under the desk is a convenient charging station outlet with two standard plugs, a USB-A port, and a USB-C fast-charge port. Wires can be neatly fed from the top of the desk down to the outlet, keeping everything organized and out of sight.
The bed is equipped with outset lights that are thoughtfully controlled from two locations—at the headboard when the bed is open, and on the side when in the office position. These lights illuminate the desk while working and double as comfortable reading lights when the bed is in use. The matching lights inside the bookcases are synced to operate at the same time for a cohesive look.
This unit also includes an upgraded 3-inch headboard with its own built-in charging station. Along with a touch switch to control the lights, the headboard provides two standard outlets, a USB-A port, and a USB-C fast-charge port—perfect for keeping phones, tablets, and laptops powered overnight.
On each side of the bed are 24-inch-wide bookcases. The upper section features adjustable shelving concealed behind doors for a clean appearance. The lower section includes a large drawer designed to look like two smaller drawers, adding both storage and visual balance.
Above the main cabinet are 18-inch-high upper bookcases with doors, offering additional enclosed storage that maximizes vertical space and gives the entire unit a finished, built-in look.
This particular Murphy bed was built from Maple wood and finished in a custom-matched color. We worked closely with the customer to match an existing finish in their home, and the final color was mixed in a durable, high-quality lacquer for long-lasting beauty.
