Maximize Your Garage Space: The Game-Changing Murphy Bed Solution

One of the unique features of this unit is that we made it extra deep, so that it came out the same distance from the wall as their existing tool chest cabinet. It is 23 3/4" deep, which is about 7 3/4" deeper than our standard units. To help accommodate this extra depth, we added a lift-up pillow storage headboard with two charging stations. Since the pillows cannot be left on the bed when raised up, this is the perfect place to store them.
This style bed is called The Checker, since the design on the front looks similar to a checker board. This is a King size unit and fits a standard 76" x 80" mattress. The applied finish is a Black Lacquer on Red Oak wood. We did a matte finish, so it was not super shiny. We also added distressing so that it had more of a "rustic" look for the garage.
Most of our Murphy bed unit show the back wall behind the Murphy Bed unit. However, this customer did not want the ability to see the wall. We added a back to the unit that matches the rest of the bed. It turned out beautifully.
