Frequently Asked Questions
How does the free plan deal work? Send us your email and contact info and we will email you a PDF version of the plans. We are sure you'll want to by the hardware from us, we are willing to send out the plans for free. Take you time and look them over to see if it is something you are comfortable with. If not then you loose nothing. If it is something you can think you can do order the mechanism and will send you out a complete package including a hard copy of the plans.
How much woodworking skills do I need? Not much for the alpine. For the most part if you know how to work saws and drills and read a tape measure, you can build this. There is a DVD to help you along the way and if you need further help, I can always be contacted. I've built hundreds of these. chris@wwbeds.com
Can I build any other styles besides the Alpine? Yes, The instructions are for the Alpine, but the main difference in each style is the face panel. Some style just require adding some molding to that panel, some require that it be replaced with something different. I can hand write some instruction modifications if you'd like to build other versions. BONUS OFFER: As a bonus I am sending a supplement to build our Hudson Bay. (Make sure you ask for it when ordering)
What if I need help during the building process? My name is Chris and I am the building and designer of most of the beds you see. If you have any questions contact me chris@wwbeds.com or 501-753-9699.
What sizes does the kit build? You can build twin, full, or queen in both the vertical and horizontal directions. I will need to know at the time of ordering what size and direction of bed you'd like.
After I buy the mechanism can I upgrade to the pre-cut? Yes, if you get to the point that you don't have the time to build it from scratch, you can still purchase pre-cut version without the mechanism. You can even purchase one of our completed units and we'll give you a credit for the entire price of the mechanism including shipping.
Do you a sample video? Yes, a 10 minuet segment of the video can be view at Murphy Video site. If you'd like to watch the entire video before purchasing the entire kit, a full length DVD can be purchased. The sale price will be deducted from the kit price when you decide on the order. (Click here for more information)
I can't get the video link to work? The most common problem with viewing the video is your flash player isn't up-to-date. Don't worry, we send a DVD out with the kits.
There are so many piece to that pre-cut, how will I ever keep them straight? We individually lable each piece and hardware pack so that there are no confusion during the building process.
